It was a rainy Monday, but we had lots of fun inside at All Things Bright and Beautiful! The day began with a snack, followed by a sing-a-long with Mr. Spencer.
Today our Acorns class (ages 1-3) learned about families. We pretended to do the work of mommies and daddies by "shaving" with shaving cream, popsicle sticks, and a mirror. Then we washed and dried dishes and diced apple slices with a fruit slicer. We also played pretend in a "house" made from a large cardboard box, took care of our moss garden, and had free play.
Our Saplings class (ages 4 and up) learned about the life cycle of a tree. We cut apples and looked at the star pattern made on the inside by the seeds. Our story for the day was "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein, and we ended by making our own drawings of the life cycle of a tree, from tiny seed to mature fruit-bearing tree.
Acorn babies were our craft. Some of us decided to make a family of acorn babies to look like our own!
It was a little too wet to play outside, but the children loved playing with the parachute in the fellowship hall!
The mommies and daddies enjoyed it, too.
Then we said goodbye until next Monday!
All Things Bright and Beautiful currently has a limited number of openings in its Sapling and Acorn classes. Think you might like to join us? Please contact us at brightandbeautifulfamilies@gmail.com for more information.
